Mattias: My Frankenstein pictures…
September 5, 2010
Realised that we haven’t showed much of the results of the exhibition here on the blog, and that it’s about time (especially since there will be a new instalmen in the Panorama exhibition series later this fall). So here are my pics:

Mattias: It takes one to make one.
October 18, 2009
My third and final image is done. Here’s a sample:

It’s about saying “Fuck you” and finally moving out from your parents. Trying to stand on your own two legs, living your own life.
Or maybe it’s about being thrown out into the storm by your own father because he was too chickenshit to take responsibility for his creation.
Well. At least it hasn’t started raining. Yet.
Also, don’t miss (some of) the other stuff happening October 30…
Mattias: Merging parts…
October 15, 2009
The more I looked at my first image (the one I discarded), I realised that I kind of liked it after all. So I decided to merge it with the last one I made.

A bit like sowing bodyparts together…

My second image. I’m sure the others will catch up and show their stuff too soon, so don’t worry.

Parts of an image about parts.
By the way. Tonight, in a little while, Swedish television will show part 3 of their series about the horror genre, which will deal with Frankenstein and Alien. Coule be interesting…
It will be up on www.svt.se later, so you can watch it there if you miss it on TV…
Mattias: Winter of solitude
September 10, 2009
The first one that I’m actually going to use is done. Here’s some samples (for the complete picture, come to the exhibition):

In relation to the other two images, this will probably be the third, but never mind. I’m showing them here in the order I’m creating them.
This is also the only one with any real connection to Shelley’s book itself. The others are more conceptual. I just got this image in my head and felt that I wanted to do it.
Mattias: First try…
September 8, 2009
A first image which might turn into something that I will use, but chances are that it won’t. In any case, I thought I’d show it here:

We’ll see what happens with it, if anything…
Mattias: When there’s no more room in the woods…
November 25, 2008
Last image I’ll be showing before the exhibition, and this is only part of it.
I already asked Raquel to turn into a werewolf for me. For this one, I asked if she could turn into some other kind of classic monster. And so this is the result (it was a bit scary, but she’s ok now):
Raqqemonster goes Little (un)Dead Riding Hood.
This image, when complete, will also be the first appearance of my interpretation of Grandma. Don’t miss it (at Panora this Saturday)!
Mattias: Getting closer…
November 24, 2008
Been listening to Wolf Eyes while working on images 4 and 5.
I think they’re done now, but I’m only going to show one of them here. Have to save something for the actual exhibition. So here it is. Raquel wrestling the Wolf.
Now I just need to figure out what’s going to be in the last one. Deadline’s getting closer and I also want to finish the next Piracy is Liberation graphic novel this week…
Oh well…
Mattias: No need for hunters.

Mattias: In the Mouth of Madness…
November 11, 2008
Another one done. It may or may not evolve more before the exhibition goes up. It’s often hard to know just after something gets completed. Sometimes it gets completed all over again, sometimes it stays the way it is.
Whatever. Obviously, there were some complications with this one too. Just climbing into the big bad wolfmouth to get to the right angle to draw from. Then keeping Raquel’s voice hanging in the air like that long enough to get it on paper. I’m telling you, I had to work fast on this one.
The Wolf goes by the name of Madness for this one, for referential reasons.
Today’s questions, to take home and think about, are these: Is Granma in reality a wolf? Was she a wolf all along? And why is her mouth so fucking big?
